Maria Teresa Leva was born in Reggio Calabria in 1987 and graduated with honors from the Francesco Cilea Conservatory in her hometown. In 2014 she made her debut in the role of Mimi in LA BOHEME at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa and shortly thereafter as Micaëla in CARMEN, with great success with both critics and audiences, as well as her debut as Donna Elvira in DON GIOVANNI in a production of the Lombardy Theater directed by Graham Vick.

Since then, a number of other debuts have followed, drawing attention to the young artist not only in her home country but also on international stages - she made her debut as Liu / TURANDOT, Nedda / PAGLIACCI, Leonora / IL TROVATORE, Magda / LA RONDINE before she At the end of 2018 she appeared for the first time as Margherita and Elena in Boito's MEFISTOFELE in Tokyo, then for the first time as AIDA in Genoa.

In 2019 she made her debut as Cio-Cio-San / MADAME BUTTERFLY at the Teatro Liceo in Barcelona, ​​in 2020 as Amelia / UN BALLO IN MASCHERA in Valladolid and as solo soprano in Verdi's MESSA DA REQUIEM in Bari. In 2021 she returned to the Teatro Liceo in Barcelona as Mimì / LA BOHEME, debuted as AIDA at the Festival in Macerata, also as AIDA at the Arena of Verona, debuted at the Verdi Festival in Parma as Amelia / UN BALLO IN MASCHERA, then at the Palau des Arts in Valencia as Madame Butterfly.
