Biography

Senior lecturer at the Department of Choreographic Education of the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet. Co-developer and co-curator of the Bachelor's program "Contemporary Dance Art" at the Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory.

Author of numerous publications on dance in various print and electronic media, including the magazines "Ballet", "Teatr", "Vaganova Academy Herald", "Pro Tanec", "Musicus", the educational resource "No fixed points", and her own dance criticism resource "Not for Posterity" (https://mariadudina.wordpress.com).

Guest lecturer at various educational and cultural institutions, such as the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts, St. Petersburg University of Humanities and Social Sciences, Altai State Institute of Culture, Ivanovo State University, and the online resource "Dancehelp.ru – To Help the Choreographer".

As a lecturer and moderator of post-performance discussions, Maria Dudina collaborates with:

Maria gives lectures on the history and theory of dance in an accessible format for a wide variety of audiences: light interactive game-based sessions for children; art-historical immersion for adults from the professional dance community. Her practical dance masterclasses focus on the fundamentals of contemporary dance technique. Maria places special emphasis on the logic of movement development and an anatomically healthy approach to dance.
