F. M. Dostoevsky

Demons

Бесы

Artistic Director and Chief Producer of Novosibirsk’s Red Torch Theatre, Andrey Prikotenko, presents his interpretation of Fyodor Dostoevsky’s novel of the same name.

The stage is kept sparse, set against a white space illuminated with dramatic lighting. Throughout the performance, ash falls steadily from above—a symbol of the ideological “fire in the minds” that swept through Russia, and at the same time, of the fragility of human conviction.
